Completed ahead of its 2022 rededication, this comprehensive renovation reconfigured and modernized the multi-story 1996 landmark, replacing all lighting systems to harmonize modern solid-state technology with the building's distinct blend of traditional Chinese motifs and contemporary sacred architecture:
Interior Progression: Replaced all interior luminaires with quiet architectural downlighting, discrete millwork integration, and balanced wall washing, establishing a calm, luminous progression across the ceremonial spaces.
Façade & Urban Presence: Re-worked the exterior lighting package with precision optical distributions to highlight the light granite cladding, decorative window screens, creating a dignified, recognizable presence within the dense Kowloon skyline while strictly mitigating light trespass into surrounding residential high-rises.
Site & Multi-Use Integration: Updated functional and accent lighting throughout the arrival court, pedestrian terraces, and multi-purpose administrative levels, using low-profile step lights, recessed canopy fixtures, and restrained landscape illumination to provide safe, comfortable circulation across tight urban footprints.
